Kraken

The SanMai
  • Sold Out

Only 25 units made.

The first model to ever utilize a SanMai blade steel, we pulled out all the stops with this variant. San Mai process is Japanese in origin and aims to achieve highly specific goals through its composition and construction process. Its name, translated from the original Japanese, roughly translates to “three parts”, which is a very apt description for the makeup of these blades.

The Alliance Designs Kraken marks our second collaboration with highly acclaimed knifemaker, Matthew Christensen. With this release, we had the honor of re-imagining one of his most iconic designs, which has been now been discontinued from his custom hand-built offerings.

The design of the Kraken was inspired by the traditional Japanese kwaiken. It features a modified tanto Damascus SanMai blade paired with a sleek, yet robust handle. This titanium bolsterlock variant features beautifully contoured FatCarbon scales and DarkTi accents.
